- All Africa Grace Fellowship - After the meeting of grace church leaders held in Zambia in 2004 under the leadership of Pastor Ken Parker, a committee was established to work on the formation of an All Africa Grace Fellowship. Praise the Lord for the work of the committee during the past four years so that the AAGF was officially launched at the leadership conference held in Malawi on August 14, 2008. Please be in prayer for the executive committee chaired by Pastor Steven Thobela of South Africa. Their first item of business is to pray that the Lord will send forth laborers into five targeted countries in Africa under AAGF’s missionary arm, Harvest Time Mission.
- Back from Africa - Sam Vinton, Jr., executive director of Grace Ministries International, expresses his thanks to all who prayed for him during his 26-day trip to Tanzania and Malawi (July 22-August 17). Among the many blessings of this trip were teaching a seminar in Tanzania for the pastors and their wives, visiting new church plants in southern Malawi with Kennedy Simtowe, and taking part in the Africa Grace Pastors Leadership Conference in Malawi conducted by Pastors Ken Parker and Gary Leyendecker.
- God’s Grace is Sufficient - Here is an interesting but important encouragement the Lord gave to Steve Sherman in Tanzania. Steve writes: “I was driving slowly down the road in a beat up car with almost no brakes. At this point I asked the Lord, ‘What next?’ While pondering that question, I looked up and saw painted on the back of the truck ahead of me the following words: ‘Neema ya Mungu Yatosha.’ Translation: ‘God’s Grace is Sufficient.’” An appropriate answer no matter where you live!
- Open Doors in Bolivia - Dan and Mary Sue Reed are thankful for the way the Lord has brought some unique people from differing backgrounds into their lives since they moved to Santa Cruz. They write: “...but what these people have in common is their need of salvation in Jesus Christ. We think of our dentist Carolina whose husband was part of the British Consulate but recently passed away at the age of fifty; Tito, our mechanic who lives half a block from our house; Niel, the lead singer in a well-known rock band; Antonio, an African Bolivian who lives close to one of our churches; Silvain, a restaurant owner from France -- all who need the Lord Jesus. Pray for them and us.”
- Update from Zambia - PTL for the good report from Pastor Simon in Kabwe, Zambia, that there are now over 300 students participating in the Bible correspondence courses. We are thankful for the permission received to distribute lessons in the two prisons located in Kabwe. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will use the Word to convict the lost of their need of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.
- God’s Protection in Tanzania - We praise the Lord for the way He protected Brook Seekins in a terrible car accident which took the life of one teenage girl who stepped in front of Brook’s car. In an attempt to avoid hitting the girl, two men on bicycles were also hit. We’re thankful that both of these men are out of the hospital. PTL that the relatives are Christians and are not going to take the case to court.
- Crusade in Malawi - PTL for the following report from Kennedy Simtowe: “We were able to conduct 13 outdoor preaching meetings where more than 800 people were in attendance. Over 300 gave their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. We thank God for that. We also conducted a two-week laymen training program with 23 men in attendance. We had a wonderful time together and opened two more preaching points and visited at least 12 of our churches in the area.”
- Uruguay Church Celebration - Last month the Uruguay Grace Church in Montevideo celebrated their 26th anniversary with a special all-day fellowship, music, offering, and food. PTL for Arnie and Sally Selfors who accepted the Lord’s call 26 years ago to leave Bolivia and begin a new grace church in Uruguay. Please pray for the expanding ministry of the church in the days to come.
- Australia Update - Continue to pray for the outreach ministry of the Northside Grace Home Church as New Testaments are placed in the hands of many people in the area of the church.
- National Youth Conference in Zambia - PTL for over 150 young people who attended the first national youth conference of the Grace Church in Zambia. We are thankful for the good leadership of Joel Molina, Sipho Thobela from South Africa, the ministry team from Rush Creek Bible Church of Byron Center, MI, and Tim and Debbe Meier. PTL for the good response to the purity seminar led by Sandy Ten Hoeve.
